A century ago the cultural and industrial landscape of Britain was very different. A certain Mr Ford from America had just introduced his innovative Model T motor car, the Summer Olympics were being hosted by London and Mothers’ Day was celebrated for the first time; a fact that George Rose would have needed to note when his first calendars rolled off the press in 1908.

In the one hundred years since, our business has seen unprecedented change. The calendars that George Rose produced were functional date and memo types, printed in black on white. It was not until after WWII that Ivor Rose, George’s nephew who managed the company from 1943, began printing in three colours. Ivor’s two sons, Richard and Chris, introduced new technologies in four colour printing and offset litho and today Michael Rose – representing the fourth generation of the family – manages a company with state-of-the-art production facilities.

Times have changed and technology has transformed the way we do business, but we have remained dedicated to producing the highest quality specialist advertising calendars. From our two sites in England and Wales we produce over 100 calendar designs, all of which are created, printed and finished in-house. It is thanks to our dedicated staff and loyal customers that we are now the leading UK owned and managed company in our sector and can celebrate with pride 100 years of Rose Calendars.
